On the 4th of August 2017 members of 425 Squadron experienced an outdoor world at 'Woodlands Adventure and Outdoor Learning 'where they offer a range of different activities that suits everyone from orienteering, bush craft and team building. Before the 4th August the Squadron all came together to organise what activities we all wanted to do, they were assault course, zip wire, archery, kayaking and tomahawk throwing. After all meeting at our meeting place we all headed down to the zip wire, there we got a safety talk as well as the equipment we needed. By all taking two go's each it was a great way of starting the day as well as getting to know the new cadets. From there we all headed downhill towards the assault course were there were a range of different challenges we had to face, after slowing going around it they thought it would be a great idea to have a competition where we were split up into two teams and the fast group- around won. After the senior cadets/NCO's won we all had lunch which was prepared by the 425 staff kindly. After getting a break after lunch, we travelled deep into the forest where we did tomahawk throwing and archery which surprisingly we all agreed was a great time, from there as well the different teams came back together for another challenge in which the cadets won this time. After everyone got there trainers on we all headed to kayaking and again after a brief safety talk we headed into the water, from there we all did race competitions which was great because it was something different to do. After that we did a changed version of bulldog, more suited to water sports. Overall the day was very fun due to it being a different scene to us all, as well as getting to know everyone better.
