“Heartstart is a qualification that enables you to learn how to save someone’s life essentially. During the heartstart course you will learn how to: do a primary survey, treat an unconscious person, recognise when someone is having a heart attack or cardiac arrest, do the process of CPR, deal with choking and how to respond when someone has a serious bleeding injury. This course is very valuable because it teaches you new life skills and in the future it could be the difference between life and death of a person. When I first joined the Air Training Corps, the Heartstart qualification was the first one qualification I ever did with cadets. So, reference to future cadets, I am sure Heartstart will be one of the first qualifications you will do. This will help with your knowledge when it comes to doing your First Aid badge"
