"One of the many activities Air Cadets do within the local community is bulb/tree planting. This involves a group of cadets from multiple squadrons meeting at a selected location and working together in pairs or groups to plant several bulbs or trees. It is a great way to interact with other cadets and to talk to other NCOs. Another thing this activity lets you do is catch up with cadets you may have met through camps or Wing Events.
It’s a great way to show off the fact that Air Cadets are proud of what we do, that we are happy to do things for the community, and take part in special events. It’s not just uniformed cadets that can do these events, NCOs, Staff, Volunteers and Non-uniformed cadets can take part and help out, and it’s open to everyone. If you do take part in any one of the events that Air Cadets has to offer, you can be proud of yourself and your squadron, being a cadet is a great way to become part of a team, and to be involved in helping the local community, organisations and individuals.
I thoroughly enjoy my life as a Cadet, I find it really rewarding and i know I am lucky to be part of an awesome squadron with brilliant staff and cadets. I am thankful for all the opportunities I am able to take part in, being a cadet makes me and my family incredibly proud and I can’t wait to take part in this year’s activities and events!"
